Carat weight is unrelated to the similar sounding karat, which refers to gold's purity.

Inclusions are clearly visible under 10x magnification but can be characterized as minor. Inclusions are not visible to the naked eye. Perhaps 1 in 100 untrained observers can detect VS2 inclusions with the naked eye, on close inspection under ideal conditions.

Color Grade: D

The GIA uses D-to-Z color scale to determine the presence or absence of color in colorless diamonds. Diamonds graded for D, E, and F colors are colorless diamonds. D color diamonds are the highest in the color grading and display unmatched brilliance. E color diamonds contain minute traces of color and display extraordinary brilliance and sparkle. E color diamonds have minute traces of color can be detected only by a trained gemologist. High-quality colorless diamonds were once considered a rarity is now readily available thanks to lab-grown diamond technology.
